What a difference some wind makes! Just after breakfast an Easterly of 15/20 knots pushed us along at up to 6 knots until late afternoon. We are now just under 300 miles from Port Hedland and have only been under motor for the four hours it took to clear Darwin Harbour.
Now the wind has eased again but we're hopeful of a breeze this evening and tomorrow morning.
More whales have been sighted with a pod of them coming within 50 metres of the ship at about 0430 this morning. The whales breached repeatedly giving the watch on deck quite a fright.
Everyone is well on board and spirits are high after just over a fortnight at sea.
