Despite the fitfull SEly and SWly breezes we have drifted just over 20 miles towards Port Hedland in the last 24 hours. It's hard going but we're confident that we'll make it there under sail - it will be an achievement for all of us.
All we need is a decent wind for a couple of days and she'll quickly cover the remaining 340 miles, especially since the swell is so slight.
More whales were seen today but still no land - we haven't sighted land for more than a week now. For some of the crew, this is their first sail offshore on a tall ship. They'll probably be waiting a while before they do another like this.
And some of us will be back as quick as we can!
