50 33.4N 000 13.7E The Da Zhong slipped her moorings at 1700hrs yesterday with Duyfken secure on her bow and looking very much like a "Little Dove"., perched forward of this large container ship, of which I am the only passenger. Together we proceeded in a westerly direction down the main waterway towards the Hook of Holland and the North Sea. My ensuite cabin on the Da Zhong is very comfortable and larger than our hotel rooms in Rotterdam and being very tired I joined the land of nod by 2000hrs. Meanwhile, the ship proceeded through the Dover Strait and into the English Channel. The day dawned to an almost cloudless, calm, sunny morning -- what bliss! Breakfast consisted of a sweet fried rice and tasty soup. Lunch was fish with meat, bok choi and rice. Tea was pork ribs with bean curd and bok choi with rice. The day continued uneventfully, being a rest day and concluded with similar conditions to the beginning.
