The recent violence in Sri Lanka will not affect the planned visit of Duyfken to Galle.

Duyfken Project Director Graeme Cocks said that the historic port city of Galle was in the south of the country, not in the north where much of the conflict is based.

Duyfken will sail from her anchorage west of Jakarta, past Krakatua, through Selat Sunda and into the Indian Ocean to make passage to Galle.

However, Duyfken's crew will exercise caution during the goodwill visit.
