How did you first get involved with the Duyfken project?
As a volunteer shipkeeper in Fremantle. She was in the water, but had no masts at the time.
Why are you embarking on the Duyfken Voyagie?
I don't know. A great learning opportunity, or just because I can.
How do you cope with life aboard a small ship such as Duyfken?
One dayÖ.hourÖ.minute at the time.
What is the most unusual item in your sea chest?
Large orange teddy bear.
How will you cope with the primitive conditions aboard?
They are not that bad - I've survived 16 months already!
What do you find is the most difficult aspect of sailing aboard Duyfken?
Dealing with other people continuously, no matter how nice they are.
What do you think will be the highlight of the voyage?
Every time land disappears over the horizon.
